Cable vs. Satellite

There appears to be an on-going marketing battle between the cable industry and the satellite dish companies.  Primarily this “fight” deals with which one offers more programming, is more reliable, and provides the consumer a better price.  The slick national advertising of the dish networks says they are the answer to all your entertainment needs.  We in the cable industry say they’re not fair—they aren’t comparing “apples to apples” when they talk about their product versus ours.  So let’s set the record straight.

First:  Satellite subscribers often complain about interference from lightning, wind, rain, and tall trees.  These reliability problems aren’t there with cable.  Fiber optics and back-up power generators have helped us become the most reliable video service in the world.   Second:  As far as price is concerned, we truly are the better value. We don’t require a long-term contract; we don’t force you to purchase expensive equipment; and we keep our monthly price extremely competitive. Third:  We offer more channels you really want for less money.  And we will continue to offer more as new quality programming becomes available.

But that’s not all you should consider when making a decision. Who’s going to handle your repair? With satellite, you’re on your own.  With Cablevision of Marion County, you’ll never be stranded.  We’re a local company with local staff—and we’re just a local phone call away.  So look at the facts—isn’t it obvious that cable should be your choice?
